Welcome To Custom Ice Rinks

In 1999 Dave Gagner, former NHL pro hockey player and 15 year veteran, met Brendan Lenko, a professional engineer and one of the experts in the ice rink industry. Brendan built a private ice rink for Dave and from that first project evolved a new breed of ice skating rink.

Dave recognized the need for kids to skate and play hockey in an open and less structured environment – and to just have fun while still improving their skills. With high demands on municipal hockey arenas, this could only be accomplished by offering the industry newer and more creative ways of constructing ice rinks. Private rinks, training rinks, studio and portable rinks all offer more time for children to skate with much less of an investment. The end result would enhance the overall quality of life and allow our kids to develop both physically and socially.

At the same time, Brendan’s ability to design and build newer and more creative ways of constructing ice rinks fit perfectly with Dave’s vision. Ice can now be installed in many shapes and sizes, on different surfaces, in different climates, and in many different configurations. Best of all, Custom Ice Rinks can now be built to match your available space and, your available budget.

Over the last 20 years, Custom Ice has designed and built over 1,000 ice surfaces all over the world including private rinks, indoor arenas, training rinks, skating paths, speed skating ovals, multi pad arenas, and multiple use ice rinks like splash pads, tennis courts, reflecting ponds and running trails.
